Shri Guru Angad Dev Ji

Guru Angad Dev Ji (1504–1552) was the second Sikh Guru and the successor of Guru Nanak Dev Ji. Born as Lehna in Muktsar, Punjab, he became a devoted disciple of Guru Nanak and was chosen as his spiritual successor. Guru Angad standardized the Gurmukhi script, making Sikh teachings more accessible. He promoted physical fitness and established schools to educate children. He also emphasized discipline, humility, and selfless service. Guru Angad expanded the practice of Langar (community kitchen) and continued spreading Sikhism’s core values. Before his passing, he appointed Guru Amar Das Ji as his successor, ensuring the faith's continuity.
